The question of where inspiration comes from is as old as humanity. As a writer, I follow a long line of word crafters in talking about my muse. I’ve often said ideas for my writing come from the void that is beyond my own mind and space-time.

Many of history’s greatest minds and achievers have reported flashes of insight coming to them suddenly and completely.

In his landmark 1980s series, The Day the Universe Changed, James Burke noted the words that described some of these moments of inspiration.

Archimedes was said to have leapt out of his bath and cried, “Eureka!” when he realized the meaning of displacement. Einstein saw special relativity in a daydream on a bus. Darwin said,”the scales fell from my eyes,” in the moment he realized the validity of natural selection. Gutenberg described the printing press as coming to him on “a ray of light.”

Nikola Tesla’s genius is legendary and because he was so eccentric and ahead of his time, he ran afoul of the powers that be. They’ve worked hard to erase him from history and from the contributions he made to many technologies that are now ordinary in our 21st century lives. He’s become a symbol and a folk-hero among alternative thinkers, convinced that he discovered secrets over 100 years ago that could solve many of the problems now facing humanity.

Was Tesla’s inspiration guided, perhaps to an even greater degree than normal, by outside entities. A couple years ago an episode of Ancient Aliens made the case that ETs aided Tesla in his work.

Several of Tesla’s own quotes seem indicate that ideas just came to him complete and with clarity. Here are some of his own quotes.

• My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists.
• The idea came like a flash of lightning and in an instant the truth was revealed.
• The motors I build there were exactly as I imagined them. I made no attempt to improve the design, but merely reproduced the pictures as they appeared to my vision and the operation was always as I expected.
• Ideas came in an uninterrupted stream and the only difficulty I had was to hold them fast … In less than two months I evolved virtually all the types of motors and modifications of the systems which now identified with my name.

Whether Tesla was just a mind above other minds or he was being guided from the outside is an important question. If Tesla and Gutenberg and Einstein and countless others had their ideas virtually downloaded into their minds from the outside, it helps to confirm the claims of our ancient ancestors that there are beings out there who are interested in helping and guiding humanity with technology and information as we become ready for it.

Perhaps zero-point energy was given to Tesla in the same manner agriculture was given to the ancients. And if we do have advanced benefactors out there trying to propel our species into the light, who are they and what are their motives?
